Ivertec Broadband has announced a significant expansion of its broadband service to rural areas of Mallow in Co. Cork and the many surrounding townlands including Kanturk, Banteer and Buttevant. Ivertec Broadband is an established regional broadband provider operating in the South West of Ireland for the past 12 years.
According to Derek O’Leary, Ivertec’s I.T. Operations Manager, there is an ongoing cry-out for their rural broadband service in Kerry and Cork.
No Phone Lines Required
“Our broadband service is wireless. It doesn’t require a phone line which means rural areas can now experience fibre-like speeds simply over a wireless connection. This makes our broadband ideal for those living along roads where no fibre cables exist in the first place,” O’Leary says.
He added: “We’re leapfrogging ahead of the Government’s National Broadband Plan. Our roll-out in North Cork will ensure homes and businesses are no longer left waiting. We’re leaving no rural home behind.”
Ivertec’s Sales & Marketing executive, Kevin Kelly, commented on the demand for high-speed broadband in the North Cork area. “We’ve connected hundreds of homes and businesses in the greater Millstreet area after completing Phase 1 of our rollout in North Cork. The feedback from our customers has been brilliant. It’s really exciting for the area.”
Internet speeds of up to 100 Mbp
From October 28th, the company will offer genuine internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps with approximately 11,000 additional properties in North Cork now within the coverage of the high-speed network. Many of these homes are currently enduring slow broadband through phone lines, mobile connections or satellite broadband services.
Ivertec Broadband offers several different plans with prices starting from €39.95 per month. Rural areas in North Cork will go live on October 7th, including Banteer, Dromagh, Newmarket, Kanturk, Mallow, Lyre, Dromahane and Buttevant.
